Comments Drove down to Browns Island in Richmond for the James River Scramble 10K trail race. I won this last year when there was no prize money or official course markers. This year they are offering 500$ for the winner so every elite runner in Richmond is trying their first trail race today. Warmed up, was feeling really good, ran some strides. Thought there might be an offset chance at 3rd place and 100$ despite the 4 other guys I knew were faster than me, but the trails are a whole new game. Sadly just 2 minutes before the race was to start, it was canceled due to severe weather rolling in. Ran back to the bag check got my stuff and sprinted back to my truck before the hail and torrential rain started to fall. That was it for today.
