Comments River loop + banks out and back + 3 mile treadmill cool down. Worn out from work today and barely made it out the door. Decided to attempt a short tempo effort run to get the wheels moving again. Warm-up for 1.5 mi before 5 x 1 Mile Tempo effort with 1/4 mi recovery jog (approx 7 min pace recovery). Slower intervals were on dark path where footing was difficult to see. Finished the final 2 miles with a light progression buildup. Cool down on the treadmill to close out.

Wed January 15th - Strides - 13.8mi

Comments Got home from work at 5 and went straight out for a river loop. Ran 400m pickups/400m easy from mile 4-8. Took a while to get moving, but started feeling good after falls bridge. Turnover was smooth at 10 mile race effort. Got home and jumped on the treadmill for a 3 mile cool down. Hit first 10.8 in 01:12:03 (6:40 per mile), treadmill 3 miles (20:30).

Comments Treadmill after work. This one felt sloppy, standing and lifting all day at the museum makes post runs difficult. Recovery is slow and motivation dragging, however feeling stronger each week and getting into pace is easier to accomplish. Time to start mixing in some real tempos and workouts.

Forced myself out the door after nightfall and a short binge on tortilla chips. Hit the 10.5 mile loop in 01:09:21 (6:36 pace), followed by easy 6:50s on the treadmill to close out.
