Comments Back in NC for weekend. Salem lake loops have to happen. Pleasant morning, first half of loop was a bit muddy. Loop was packed including most of tctc and brooks runners from yesterday's meet. Didn't feel too sharp so didn't check my watch until the first loop was complete. To my surprise, came through in 45 flat (expecting 48). Since I already felt slow, just held pace and closed in the last few miles hitting the final pavement hill strong. Second loop just under 44. Mapped out the loop with the new switchbacks near the dam at 7.1. Can't believe how easy pace felt. Must be the perfect NC weather. No negative windchill constricting the lungs.
