Tue January 6th - Hill Run - 8.25mi

Comments Post work treadmill run. Was considering a workout outside but the path was compromised with 3 inches of snow. I planned to find a good hill to run up but figured I could get a stronger effort on the treadmill with the illusion of a never ending hill. This was an incline progression run. Every 5 mins I amped the incline 1% through 50 mins. This brought me to 9% incline by the end with supposedly over 1500 feet of total rise. For the last 10 mins of running I brought it back down to 0% and cranked the speed to marathon pace. Hopefully I am training my body to hold pace through the hill crest. My calves will most definitely be sore tomorrow. Got the heart rate up nice and high with this one.

Sun January 4th - Easy Run - 10.5mi

Comments River loop. pushing 55 degrees and light rain. Optimum weather in my opinion. Difficult to get out today or this past week with impending deadlines etc. Feeling spry from the constant taper happening by default. Threw in 8 x 200m strides at mile pace starting at mile 7 with 200 recovery jog at base. This one run per week trend just wont do. Hopefully things turn around quickly.
