Fri January 8th - Tempo Run - 10.49mi

Comments Tempo run with PRTC. Warmed up 1.5 down to the River to meet the group. We continued to jog for about 1.5 mi before rolling into 2 x 15 min tempo. I was dropped swiftly but stayed comfortable, trying not to over do it holding onto these guys. I hit the first mil in 5:44 feeling easy and picked up from there. 3 mins jog between sets, the group waited for me and a few others to begin the next one. Held onto the pack for the third mile before getting dropped again. Surprised to see 5:30 on that one. I struggled to get through the first 10 mins of the second set, but started loosening up some how for the last 5 mins. Felt good considering this is the first real workout Ive done in a while. Need to keep the consistency going and drop a couple lbs and Ill be in the mix soon enough. Really glad to have a group to keep me motivated while work continues to get harder and more demanding.

Tue January 5th - Fartlek - 10.5mi

Comments Fartlek with PRTC. First training run in a few months. Everybody is starting up again. Plan was as many 1 min on 1 min off reps after the two mile mark on the river. Stopped for the portojohn at 7 miles in before catching up with group 2. We made it through about 12 reps before shutting it down. The rest was more moderate than expected. Went through the first two miles in sub 5:40, slightly slower for the last few. Good run to get the legs moving again. Felt decent but turnover is lacking.

Sun January 3rd - Easy Run - 7.11mi

Comments Out and back on the river trail. Felt a bit off on the way out (24:12), started feeling better coming home (23:22). Built up the last mile to close out around tempo pace. Trying to get my schedule straight after the holiday break. Running at all hours of the day is discombobulating.
