Time of day 4:00 PM
Distance 8.50 mi
Shoe Supernova Glide 4
Comments River loop. First run back since race. Feel good and fully recovered. Plan to take this week easy and get back to some workouts next week. Some residual turnover still in the legs from the race. Caught myself approaching 6 min miles by the end of this one. Got to keep it rolling.

Sun May 1st - 10 Mile - 15.5mi
Time of day 2:30 PM
Distance 10.00 mi
Shoe Supernova Glide 4
Distance WU/CD 5.50 mi
Comments Rainy and cold throughout the event. Reminiscent of Boston Marathon 2015 but without the wind. I probably prefer rainy cool conditions to the typical heat of this race. Was worried coming in, got dragged out to the bar Friday night with some friends in town for the penn relays and probably drank too much. Spent most of saturday trying to bounce back and rest. Warmed up in pouring rain for 3.5. Ran with PRTC group for the first half of the race. Plan was to go through 5 in 27:30, ended up 27:08. The 5th mile in 5:18 shook me up a bit and I backed off to try and recover. Gave my group some distance, and worked the rest of the race to try and real them in. Was pretty much solo from 6-9. Started to fall apart around 8, but managed to keep it right around 5:30s throughout. My training partners were about 20-30 secs up on me, would have been nice to be in that pack at the finish, but a few months ago I wasn't confident I'd be under 56. Cool down 1 mile out and back with team mates. Motivated to keep this progression rolling.
